Eligibility Criteria
A person is eligible to be considered for the Emerging Artist Award if she or he is:
A Canadian citizen or 2 or more years as a landed immigrant;
A resident of Alberta for at least 2 years; and
An emerging artist, defined as someone who:
- has completed training, an apprenticeship or a recognized body of work in an arts discipline and meets the requirements of one of more of the following:
- is at an early stage in their artistic career and dedicated to the professional practice of the art, as evidenced by a significant investment of time and resources;
- has created a modest body of independent work and has a history of public presentation or publication;
- is recognized as an artist by others working in the same artistic tradition.
